Data Quality

An updated version of the USAspending.gov Guidance was issued on June 1, 2009; which defines award reporting requirements necessary to comply with both the Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act (FFATA) and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (Recovery Act). You can use the following link to view the latest Guidance: M-09-19, Guidance on Data Submission under the Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act (FFATA). The updated Guidance requires Federal agencies to report data on their awards in never before-required timeliness and detail. Starting with June 2009, USAspending.gov will begin processing agency file submissions twice per month, on the 5th and the 20th, instead of the current once per month. Data on the website will generally be refreshed in the first and third week of every month

This page will report transparently on two categories of data quality: timeliness and completeness.

•Data Timeliness: Data provided by agencies is for transactions completed by the date listed in the table below.
•Data Completeness: Data provided by agencies includes the following percentage of data elements required by the Transparency Act.

This Table outlines the date of the most recent submission of data received from 24 Major Agencies that was loaded to USASpending.gov. Note that the receipt dates below do not reflect the actual date of posting to USAspending.gov or the date obligations are made to recipients.
